Westwood Marketing offloads strategic and tactical projects so that they can be completed more quickly, more effectively, and at a lower cost than if had they been done using internal resources. Our typical process is to listen to and work with clients to help develop and narrow a thesis. We then collect data from our catalog of over 3,000 industry resources, analyze that data, and stack rank the results. We next prepare and present our findings, conclusions, alternatives and recommendations to company management. In many cases we continue through the implementation phases of the project.

Case Studies / Examples: 

Conducted an analysis of the consumer flash memory market for a leading semiconductor manufacturer who was contemplating entering the flash memory industry. We surveyed multiple sources, built models and analyzed the data. In an on-site meeting we presented and defended our conclusions to the company’s executives. Our client entered the industry, established a joint venture with another manufacturer, made investments in several technology start-ups, and has consistently grown their market share.

Assisted the corporate strategies group at one of the world’s largest memory manufacturers to determine the potential increase in value to flash memory through the addition of software applications, media and other content. We conducted a broad survey of applications and narrowed our client’s focus to a short list of market segments, including, music, book publishing, medical, secure data and corporate data. Our report was utilized at the executive level.

Worked with a consortium of leading venture capital firms and an under performing flash memory startup to accelerate business development, marketing and sales activities. We reviewed the company’s business plan, interviewed staff members, and surveyed the technology, component suppliers, markets, channels and competition. We developed and aided in the implementation of a revised plan that raised over $10 million in financing and achieved revenue over $20 million in their third year of operations.
